Guest Post: Disney Princess Headbands/Hairclips

Today I have a guest poster for you: Rachel W! She is one of my good friends, and she is probably one of the crafty-est people I know!

Rachel found this idea on Pinterest (of course) and tried it out!

Here is her original pin:

and here is what she had to say:

For the Cinderella headband I used a variety of ribbed ribbon, hot glue, and a headband or hair clip. It doesn't take too long to make.

[There are no measurements here, since you must gauge the correct sizes depending on the size of the princess you want.]

First you cut 3-5 pieces of ribbon (depending on which character you are making) all one length for the skirt. Cut slightly smaller pieces of ribbon in the correct colors for a shirt, arms, and hair.

Make the skirt first by overlapping the ends of looped ribbon and positioning them until you like the look of the skirt. Then use hot glue to fasten them all together.

Make a much smaller loop around the top of the skirt for a shirt, and then hot glue it to the skirt.

Loop a piece of ribbon to make the arms and glue it to the back of the skirt and shirt.

For the head, you have to roll a length of ribbon until it looks to be about the right size for the body, fasten it with a little hot glue, then glue it on top of the body.

The hair for each princess is going to be different, but for Cinderella, just fold a small loop of yellow ribbon and attach it to the head so that the back of the hair sticks off from the head. Then cut a tiny piece of blue ribbon and add Cinderella's headband.

Finally, attach the princess to either a headband or a hair clip with hot glue, and you're finished!

Here is a picture of one that Rachel fastened onto a hair clip:

This one is Tinkerbell! As you can see, each princess is going to be different on how you need to fold and glue the ribbon. For best results, refer back to the original pinterest picture, and be creative!

Rachel makes and sells all different kinds of headbands and hair clips at her Etsy shop:
